Our backcountry horse adventures depart daily from the new St Mary`s River WIlderness Lodge.
You and your guide will travel by horseback from the lodge through timbered old growth forests, along pristine mountain streams, and into alpine meadows.
Experienced guides and veteran trail horses ensure safe and enjoyable travel through the breathtaking scenery of the Purcell Mountains.
Choose from 4 Stellar options:
1-1/2 day ride - $95 adult, $65.00 per child (includes lunch). Book this trip
2-Full day ride - $145 adult, $95 per child (includes lunch & supper). Book this trip
3- Full day ride, meals, and 1 night at the lodge - $195 Book this trip
4- 2 day, one night pack trip to Wilderness Hot springs. $325, includes 2 days, horseback, guide, and cabin rental.
Above includes guide, horse, tack, and pickup/return to St Mary`s Lake. Full day rides are 6-8 hours. Half day rides are 3-4 hours. Book this trip

Explore the Wild and Scenic Kootenay backcountry on foot with a competent guide. Get on out there!
Transportation, meals and tents provided for the area's classic hikes.
Mount Stevens Trail, (1 night) long, difficult (total 16 km). Book this trip.
Windy Pass to Dibble Glacier, (2 nights), moderate (total 18 km). Book this trip.
Bear Lake Trail, (1 night), short, moderate (total 9 km). Book this trip.
Mount Fisher Trail, (day hike), long, difficult (total 8 km). Book this trip.

The Half Day Ride:
Hop
in for the shuttle ride into the Purcell Mountains. Climbing several
thousand feet to our start point, soaking up the view over the Rocky
Mountain valley.
After a double track warm up ride, we head down the twists and turns of a Rocky Mountain descent. The ride offers trails suitable for adventurous beginners, Intermediate and Advanced riders.

After a stellar mountain descent, join your guide by the riverside for a lunch and some down time amid a mature larch forest.
When you are done, cool off on the river raft or inflatable kayak for an afternoon paddle on the St Mary's River.

Paddle Canada - Moving Water 1 Course.
Obtain Canada's most recognized canoeing certification while honing old skills or learning new ones.
An introduction to river running in whitewater canoes is a blast, and an excellent way to view some beautiful back country rivers.
